Rivulettes Host Family Program

Our Rivulette host families are key factors of success for our out of town players.

Our families provide the comfort and stability that our players need to navigate an intensive hockey and academic schedule.

The experience can be very rewarding, and has the potential to establish a life-long relationship between a player and her host family.

Our players MUST respect the rules of their host family, and the host family must recognize the team’s core values and structure.

As a Host Family your role is:

To be a mentor, friend, counselor, and a good role model.

To provide a clean, family-oriented environment.

To provide nutritious meals and snacks.

To provide a private bedroom with desk, chair, closet/drawers.

To provide access to the internet via Wifi.

To provide access to laundry facilities.

To listen and give encouragement.

To support and build up their self-esteem.

To treat the player as “one of the family”.

To provide a Non-Smoking Household.

Please note that successful applicants must complete a background check with Waterloo Regional Police Service.

Host Families are offered a weekly stipend to help offset the costs of welcoming one of our players into their home.

If your family is interested in becoming a host family or would like more information, please complete the information form below. If there is a potential match, we will schedule a home visit, during which your family can meet with members of our staff to further discuss requirements, expectations, and scheduling. Please note that only families located within the City of Cambridge will be considered.
